Millom Rock Park

New site for site of geological interest in Cumbria

The Client

The Rock Park is a site of geological interest and was the brain child of one Jack Procter, who was instrumental in setting it up. The site itself is the property of Aggregate Industries, who operate the adjacent quarry. Unfortunately Jack was in ill health and passed away before the website was completed.

The Journey

I was initially approached by the Northern Estates Manager of Aggregate Industries and invited to attend a meeting at the Rock Park to discuss the design and build of a website to advertise the venue.

When I arrived only Jack was able to attend and he showed me around the site and gave me a lot of background information.

While I was there I fortunately took photographs of everything, including the information boards which I thought would be particularly helpful when constructing the website. I also ended up using a lot of the photos as AI were only able to provide a couple of photos that I could use.

I liaised with Jack during the initial build. I know he would have liked to make more of the site but sadly it was not to be.
