Maintaining your new Web site
The beauty of web sites is that they are easy to change and update. When you print several thousand brochures, you have to live with any typing errors or mistakes until you run out of brochures. Your web site, however, can be instantly altered as soon as a mistake is spotted.
There are two main ways to update your web site.
1. the web pages can be edited directly by the web designer or anyone with an HTML editing program and sufficient knowledge to make the alterations.
2. the web pages can have the facility built in for you to update parts of it yourself through your web browser. The latter will require a lot more programming skills than a regular HTML site and is generally more expensive initially, but can save you money in the long run.
If your changes are likely to be simple and not too frequent, you may find it easier to take out a maintenance contract to update the content of your web site.
